For what its worth. If you are taping SouthPark with idea of keeping for a long time(years) record only in SP mode and keep the aired show intact. That includes all commericial interruptions. From lurking in other ng's such as SCTV, there is great demand for tapes of old shows that include commercials as they add context for a feeling of the times when the shows originally aired.
