important information about homosexuality

Homosexual activists often sing the praises of the Roman Empire/Republic, what with the claimed frequency of homosexuality among the aristocrats. what they forgot to tell you was that the homosexual behavior concerned eunuch sex slaves castrated in early boyhood, in order to "de-man" them. Is it true the Gay Rights crowd want to emasculate the public at large, to make us all sex slaves, in their sick fantasies, as political ambitions?

In other news, Walter Traprock is a closeted, self-loathing gay man. And his fascination with eunuchs is frightening.

Plus he's got his history wrong. Eunuchs didn't enter the picture until pretty late in the game, and most of them voluntarily castrated themselves as a religious gesture, kinda like a more hardcore version of what Catholic priests do now.

The Roman attitudes about sex are still big influences on how we look at things now. They saw things in term of active and passive (who was doing the penetrating) instead of gay or straight. As long as a man was "pitching," it didn't matter who or what was "catching," as long as it was a subordinate, but for a man to take it in the ass from an inferior, even if it was only with a girl sticking a finger there during oral sex... that was considered shameful and disgusting. But then, it was also considered disgusting for a man to go down on a woman, too.

Oh, and the Ancient Greeks, the people who created Western philosophy, art, theatre, literature, democracy, professional armies, and damn near every other part of our culture... they were all a bunch of flaming fairies.

No, they were what we would call bisexual or ambisexual - I think they'd screw anything with a pulse.

Eunuchs had existed for a long time, but the Romans didn't get them until fairly late in the empire, and it was never a widespread practice. It was mostly confined to a cult of men who castrated themselves (without anasthesia) to get closer to God. In the eastern remnants of the Empire that survived in Byzantium, eunuchs were more common, but they weren't necessarily the effeminate and submissive things you might expect. Quite a few of them were soldiers, politicians, etc. One was leading armies into battle well into his 90s.

All this stuff about gay/straight and whether you're born that way or not is all a pretty recent invention. Up until about 2000 years ago, most cultures outside of the Middle East didn't see anything wrong with guys fucking guys in and of itself, though a lot of them did have ideas about how it should be done. Essentially they thought "hey, it's got a hole and a pulse! fuck it!"

Then Christianity spread and demonized homosexuality among males as an abomination ("nobody cares about damn dykes!"), and in the last 50 years with the Civil Rights and Womens' movements, we've had people start to understand themselves as an oppressed minority on the basis of who they want to fuck. That's where you get a "gay identity" and all this crazy anti-gay shit like what Traprock's spreading. Up until there was a gay movement, the attitude of Christianity was that gays were disgusting, sinful, and unnatural, but there wasn't a movement to persecute them or deny them rights or anything.

I hear those supermacho Spanish guys are really into transsexual prostitutes, too.

I said that homosexuality, as a "gay identity" is a political movement, and it's led to an "anti-gay" reaction against it. For most of human history in most cultures around the world, nobody really cared about homosexuality, and even when they did there wasn't an organized group of "gays" for them to persecute.

Why exactly do you believe that homosexuality is harmful to you, society, or others? You say that it's criminal and wrong, but how do you come to that conclusion? If it isn't harming anyone, except maybe those who practice it without proper lubrication, then why is it a big deal?

I also said that the *Roman* attitudes about sex saw things in terms of active and passive. Ours are a hell of a lot more uptight and legalistic than theirs were, and that active/passive obsession, combined with Middle Eastern condemnation of sex as inherently unclean, especially anal and oral sex, is basically at the root of the Puritanical sexual morality ingrained in how *our* culture sees things.

Exactly what is wrong with homosexuality in and of itself, anyway? Not my thing, but how does two guys (or three, or four, or a big pile of them) fucking each other in the ass harm you or American society?
