Braniff plugs

What's with the 5 second Braniff Airlines plugs at the end of every SP episode? Did Braniff have anything to do with the actual production of the show, or are they just advertising? Or is it a tradeout (in exchange for flights)?

What's more, the melody over the Brannif logo is "Spledoinkal Day" (spelling?) from Parker & Stone's "Alferd Packer The Musical" (aka "Cannibal The Musical").

"Braniff Airlines" is the name of Trey and Matt's production company.

Braniff, the airline, no longer exists. It went out of business years ago. Matt and Trey thought it would be funny to pick up the trademark once they had vacated it, and to use the tag as their production company logo.

FYI... "Route 66" is a clothing brand sold at Wal-Mart (and possibly other places) "Esso Gas" is a large corp in Europe, and very prevelant in Italy (I thought it was Italian for Exxon!?? Or was it a separate American name at one point??)

Yeah, Exxon used to be called Esso in the US, and still is in Canada. So there!

It's no wonder why Stone & Parker did what they did with the Brannif namesake. The possibities for the same names to appear in other companies are endless.

They used to make Gumby programs, and they also used to do a show that appeared on the TVOntario network called "Fables of the Green Forest" (which I thought was a sucky show)

My father's job from 1976-86. The cars weren't so bad, but the Jeep division was the only thing keeping it afloat at one point.

Believe it or not, there are still a few mom and pop drug stores carrying this name. (Cobb Drugs in Wayne, MI plus one drug store in downtown Monroe, MI)

Couldn't compete, and went under in either 1991 or 92.

The last I heard, it was a hardware/home improvement superstore that is #2 only to Home Depot.
