Saturday Night Live inspired by Southpark?

Did anybody else who watches both Saturday Night Live and Southpark think that SNL might be getting some of it's sketch ideas from Southpark? I was watching the show tonight, and I first noticed when they did the "when fat Albert went bad" sketch. For those of you in the Southpark group who didn't see it, it was just a sketch about the "behind the scenes" trouble that the Fat Albert crew got into with drugs, women, etc.. Southpark had an episode recently that had a parody of that show called "Fat Abbot" that was eerily similar. I was going to point it out and see if anybody else noticed the correlation, and then I saw *another* sketch at the end of the show called "Extreme Hunting" that was very, very similar to "Huntin' and Killin' with Jimbo and Ned". Am I the only one who watches both these shows? Anybody else out there who does, post your comment about whether you think I'm crazy or not.... it's quite possible!

Extreme Hunting being based on Jimbo and Ned's show is stretching it a little... there have always been parodies of hunting shows on sketch comedy shows, and even from comedians. And it's rather well known that Ted Nugent is a total psycho, who loves bow hunting. I think SNL was more influenced by the "Where are they now" shows that have been on VH-1 in the last couple of weeks... one of which featured Nugent.

Anyway, I'll fight this to the bitter end. I watched that stupid show every Saturday when I was a kid... look at SNL! They had it right! Mushmouth had the purple hat and a sort of high-pitched voice... Dumb Donald had-buh the-buh speech-buh impediment-buh.

Personally I didn't find that sketch that funny. The intro was funny, but it all went down hill from there. They didn't even make Tracy Murray that fat. They could have made him more like Terry Jones in "Meaning of Life."

I think I know far more adults that watch South Park than watch SNL.

I'd just say that maybe they don't think there's a large overlap between the two audiences.

I saw those two sketches too and I could ONLY think of when I saw the similar
occurences on South Park!  It's very possible they could have been inspired or
