Ok, I don't personally think Kenny is "dead". But if he is, which of the "B" characteers would you like to step up? Options are Butters, Wendy, Klyde, Tweak, Pip, Token, Craig, or anyone else you can think of. I vote for Tweak, with Craig as second choice.

There was a rumor that Eminem would kill Kenny and Butters will replace him. Its a really old rumor though.

I'd kinda like to see Butters, 'cause I think he has the most potential, but Craig or Clyde would be cool too. They could call Clyde "the fat one" and have some kind of competition between him and Cartman. I think it's pretty funny when Craig flips everyone off.
Someone raised a good point about terminating Kenny, though: who'd be around for the kids to rip on poor people?
I'd say that nobody would be around to explain things like dildos, but we've heard a fair amount of that from Mrs. Cartman, Chef, and Mr. Garrison already.

I think they've had enough of that. So much so, that they had to turn around and pick on Token for being rich.
They weren't even using Kenny much for muttering the dirty stuff anymore either, so he's pretty much lost his use.
I think it'd be hilarious if Towelie tried to be the new fourth member of the gang.
But by the end of the episode, Stan, Kyle and Cartman come to accept Butters as part of their group.

Another argument for Butters:
He could act as Cartman's minion whenever Cartman comes up with a crazy, evil plan.
My impression of Butters is that despite his naivete, everything works out for him in the end. No harm ever comes to him, even though he's blissfully ignorant. There's something kind of funny about that. He would be the opposite of Kenny -- blessed with good luck.
As for Kenny...
He could still make occasional appearances. For example, when the guys visit heaven or hell. He could also reappear in the movie. And he could return in the last episode of the series (whenever that's going to happen).
Finally, it could be funny to play up the lame things that other TV shows do when a character or actor has to replaced. One example would be The X-Files when they had to replace Mulder.
I could see the next episode being about Stan, Kyle and Cartman dealing with the loss of Kenny. Realizing that they need to replace him (they need a fourth player for their GameSphere sessions, for one), they hold auditions, and characters like Timmy, Towelie and Mr. Hat try out for the part.
In terms of future episode ideas, there really seems to be more possibilities creatively if Kenny were removed from the series. I like Kenny, too, but maybe to continue moving the series forward they'll need to take a chance as big as this.

I would have to vote for Butters with Token coming in second. Wendy wouldn't work because the group rips on Stan for liking her. Klyde is to small a character and tweak is way to energetic to fit in. Pip would just get his ass kicked by cartmen all the time, and again craig is too small a character. Token would only be second because his character, the "token" black guy, is usually a "sort of friend" of only some of the members in a clique. It wouldn't be that bad if he did become the fourth member, but hopefully, kenny isn't dead, that would be like Quagmire getting neutered in The Family Guy.
