Defective South Park DVDs (POP on audio)

Does anybody have the hardware to view the actual stereo AC-3 audio stream or the data on the disk to see how the 'popping noise' appears digitally?

Are you positive? Depending on your system and sound settings, it might not be all that noticeable, listen carefully to 'Big gay Al' - there is a single 'pop' noise, about once a minute. It doesn't seem to be on the VHS tapes, and it's very annoying.

It's almost certainly an encoding problem, not a physical disk defect, so every single copy from this production run will have the POP sounds. If somebody has a good POSTAL address for Rhino and Comedy Central, we can pressure them for a recall/exchange.

If you can extract the digital data, you should be able to tell if the POP is a digital artifact or noise from the (most likely analog) master tape or the video playback deck used to convert the analog soundtrack to digital...

If we can show that the POP is clearly present in the audio track and not a problem with every single person's player, we can pressure Rhino/CC to exchange the disks.

It's really disappointing when the sound on a DVD is worse than on the equivalent VHS tape!
