Southpark movie thoughts

I have to admit i absolutely love the movie..and will be going again saturday morning!

hmm..amazing to believe that the movie is getting phenominal reviews from everyone (well..maybe except from morality in media..f**k them!)

strange thought..how do you think the motion picture academy would react if "kyle's mom is a bitch!" were nominated for best song for the academy awards?

or Eric cartman for best supporting actor? (imagine the acceptance speech)

it was only showing on one screen at the local theatre,but when word of mouth gets out..that will change!

show the MPAA who the real bosses are..the VIEWERS!! SEE THIS MOVIE MORE THAN ONCE..SHOW PARAMOUNT WE WOULD RATHER HAVE AN ORIGINAL MOVIE LIKE SOUTHPARK THAN SOME WARMED OVER BAD CONCEPT FILM LIKE WILD WILD WEST or LOST IN SPACE!

That would be hella cool if "Kyle's Mom is a Bitch" would win or even be nominated for best song :-)

I loved the movie, but one line sorta bothered me. It didn't offend me, but it struck me as a bit extreme. When the mole says something like "Was my mother careful when she stabbed me in the heart with a coathanger while I was in the womb?" I took it as to laugh at that would be to laugh at the many women who have died trying to give themselves abortions. There really isn't anything funny about a woman dying in that way. Now flame me if ya want, but I did think the movie was incredibly funny regardless of that line. VIVA LA RESISTANCE

Any time that a woman dies during an abortion, justice is done. Too bad they didn't show that in the movie.

That is such a horrible thing to say. I refuse to get into a stupid ethical debate about abortion in here, but if you can actually be happy when a woman dies like that, then there is something very wrong with you. Who knows, maybe the woman was 14 and was raped. Is it truly "justice" if she accidentally kills herself that way? Every situation is different.

Well, gosh, since (if I'm remembering right) his mother was still alive, it would have been very difficult to show her dying during a botched abortion, now wouldn't it? And since that was the only reference to abortion in the film, it would have been hard to put it in there.

I am not discussing the personal life of a cartoon character, all we are saying it is it was a little too much. But that was the only thing in the movie I found a little offensive.

Some of you may be too young to remember a show called "Soap," but even before it went on the air on network TV, there were groups (mostly older ladies on talk radio & TV) who were JUST INCENSED at this AWFUL SHOW and said "WE SIMPLY HAVE TO GET IT OFF THE AIR!!!" before it even premiered.

Man, I'd love to see these people now. Reading their reviews is OK, but I wanna see 'em SQUIRMMMMM!!! "Soap" gave them the fits -- South Park gives 'em apoplexy!

You also need to remember that the Mole knew his mother tried to abort him and therefore didn't want him, which is probably the real reason why he's such a fucked up little kid.

I think the point of lines like this is more to be as extreme and offensive as possible. It's trying to shock.....I don't think that the concept itself is meant to be funny, but more the sheer audicity and fact that it will outrage certain people that its creators purposefully want to offend for the sake of being offensive and outrageous ..... other things that don't bother you will offend some people, based on their experiences....

Haven't seen the movie yet, but even after hearing a few songs, I love the idea that this movie will shock and outrage puritanical America. I almost wish I was there to read the editorials....hehe.....
