They're not taking down the sites....in the Newsweek article, it said that Comedy Central "Encourages" the sites!

They do it for the same reason that Geffen and Paramount do it: because their entertainment lawyers tell them to do it. And despite what some posters say, it's very easy to track down every single site, and send letters to their ISP's threatening legal action. With the big search engines you could do it in an afternoon. With agenting software, you could monitor the internet 24 hours a day. Try finding a full realaudio file of Nirvana on the internet. Go ahead, try.
