Seems I can't enjoy a TV show without worrying what a bunch of internet people think. Like I alluded to before, this has happened at least one other time: I used to be a huge fan of a certain other show, but then I discovered that show's newsgroup, and had to put up with everyone whining that the show sucked and wasn't as good as it used to be every time there was a bad episode. Sadly, I heard these posts so many times I started believing them, and found I couldn't enjoy this show as much as I used to. (although I still do)
And now the same thing's happening to South Park. I'll watch an episode I found nothing wrong with, then next morning I'll come in here and hear everyone complaining about how the episode sucked and how Matt and Trey are losing their touch, blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda. For example, I enjoyed watching Damien and the Godzilla episode, but it seems to me there's something wrong with me for liking them, just because most of this NG hated them. Also, although I wasn't able to watch it, the T+P episode was accepted well by the other people in my house who were watching it. Maybe they should be lucky they don't have regular access to Usenet and can actually enjoy things on their own.
In conclusion, I don't know if I'll be here as regularly as I used to be. I want to try and like or hate something on my own, and not because of what other people think.
