South Park Animation

I love the animation in SP. Especially when the characters are walking, and they don't really walk, but...bounce i guess you could say. Or when they get our of the car in the volcano episode and they float to the ground. I have a question about the SP animation though. How is it done? It seems to me that it is a bunch of paper cutouts layered on a cell. That's my best guess. Does anyone know exactly what they do to bring our favorite four little scamps to life?

You are correct. It is cut out construction paper.

Yeah, the use Alias Wavefront (I think) to animate it now, but they wanted to keep the look the same. I can't imagine it any other way.
