Hey everyone-
Is it just me or did this seem to go on FOREVER, like they were filler? I thought maybe this was a parody/homage of a famous fight scene, but the only one that comes to mid as being close is the one at the end of the original "Lethal Weapon" between Gary Busey and Mel Gibson (and I haven't seen that since it came out). Can anyone help? Was this an homage or filler?

You are correct. The fight scene was a parody of the fight scene betwee Roddy Piper and David ? (forget his last name right now) from the John Carpenter film, "They Live." The scene goes on forever because the FIGHT goes on forever, lasting nearly ten minutes on screen.
