Well i wouldn't say that it sucks but it isn't great either. On a related note the theater i went to showed the South Park trailer before Episode 1 so it's getting some good publicity.

I have heard that 30% of the South Park fanbase are people under 17. That means if the movie has an NC-17 rating, then 30% of the fans will not be able to see it.

Until it comes out on video. i.e. 30% of the audience aren't allowed to stay up till midnight to watch it either, but they still manage to see it somehow. We all saw "R" films when we were kids.

I enjoyed it. It's not the most earth-shattering, greatest piece of cinema ever to come down the pike, but it's a heck of an entertaining story with some great special effects. I didn't come out of it feeling like I'd wasted $13.50 on tickets (unlike some other movies I've seen lately), and I fully intend to go see it again (unlike most other movies I've seen lately), so to me, the answer is "no."

I personally *LOVED* it!!! (but that's just me...some are bound to love it, while others hate it) I was at the premier of it in my area (getting out of school on Monday ;P) and I saw it tonight on the charter bus on the way home from New York City--someone somehow got a bootleg tape of it, and the bus driver let us watch it. I watched it twice, loved it twice, and bought some Star Wars stuff at FAO Schwarz. :)

No. It's a fun movie. Most reviewers seem to be like fundamentalist Christians. Lucas taking a different approach is like sacrilege to them. It has flaws, primarily the kid who plays Anakin. Worst child actor in the history of film. But see it with an open mind, it's only a space opera.
