Ah...the sweet taste of success! Congrats to Trey and Matt! I just looked at the review of the SouthPark movie at Entertainment Weekly Online and they LOVED the movie (They gave it an "A-" rating)! I couldn't agree more! And on the even sweeter side, they gave "Wild Wild West" a "D+"...Regardless of money intake, I know that SouthPark:B,L,&UC will be the most memorable movie of the year and soon the talk of the "West" flic will be..."Huh?"

I think South Park my make money just by word of mouth. I saw it in a packed theater last night. People were laughing so loud that I missed a lot of the jokes! The funny thing about the South Park is that it is getting better reviews than almost all of the summer blockbusters, even Star Wars. South park is even going to laugh the Lame Austin Powers movie out of the theaters!

I saw it twice already...once at a screening, and once I paid for. It was kinda tough trying to find a theatre here in New York City that it was playing at night in that didn't have the movie...SOLD OUT!!!! You can't say that about Wild Wild West.
As a matter of fact, its kinda ironic, WWW is in the larger theatres in the multiplexes, yet SP is getting most of the audiences. Most of the reviews that I've seen have been very surprising, although similar in tone. Some like it more than others, but the message is the same: This movie is very offensive, has lots of cussing, and kids shouldn't see it, but it is SOOO FUNNY!!!!
Even the one critic who did give it a bad review that I know of (NY Post gave is 1 1/2 stars) said that they laughed in the movie at times.
So there, defintely a big recommendation from me to go and see this...although it may make its money back in its first day (it doesn't look like it cost too much to make, seeing that it's made the same way the TV show is), it would not surprise me to see this movie debut at #1.

I read somewhere that it only cost $1.5 million to make (I guess that doesn't include the promotional stuff), so I believe that you are correct in you assumption!!!!!

You know, something really strange happened when I saw it. The theater wasn't crowded at all, but after 15 minutes there was a sort of collective unconscious agreement to try and stop laughing...so we'd be able to hear the rest of the movie!
