CALL FOR SOUTHPARK BAN
ANGRY parent groups have called for the controversial cartoon series, South Park to be pulled off air.
The show, featuring four foul-mouthed thrid-graders called Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman, has become SBS's highest rating program, attracting a huge teenage following.
But one psychologist has warned parents the program, which deals with topics including necrophilia, bestiality and drug use, could lead to youth depression and they should supervise and debrief teenagers watching the show.
However, Salt-shakers (sic) family values group sokesman Peter Stokes reserved his strongest blast for parents who he said had no idea of what children were watching on TV and were "too weak" to say no.
+++the article was accompanied by a terrible cariacuture labelled STAN..++++ This Sunday paper is considered the premier read for this part of Australia on a Sunday. It has a statewide distribution with some 1.5 million readers. Queenslands history shows a quick reaction to issues such as these, with bans being quite commonplace in it's history of "free expression". I am sure the paper would appreciate some feedback. I am also sure the Aussie fans would be 'pissed orf' if a ban was put in place.
