Unless it is a 'normal' killing. Something bizarre and sudden (as opposed to a lingering illness in his last appearance), followed by "OH MY GOD THEY KILLED KENNY (Again!)!" "YOU BASTARDS!". Or, they could dispense with killing him altogether, and develop his charactor some other way. I, for one would welcome his return in any case.

I think so. The whole thing of kenny's soul being in Cartman follows almost line for line the plot in Star Trek III, The Search for Spock, and we all know how much they like to parody Star Trek. Maybe Dr Mephisto will clone Kenny's body from some DNA and some yet unseen character will transfer the soul from Cartman to Kenny.
Now we need an episode with a Genesis planet (or a Genesis lab at Dr. Mephesto's office in which a Kenny body is brought to nine-year-old term) and another one in which body and soul are reunited. I noticed the Star Trek III reference in "A Ladder To Heaven." I assume you did as well? :)
