A critic's viewpoint

I'm a huge fan of South Park, but I'm also a film critic (amateur one, at that). I have yet to see "Eyes Wide Shut," which I'm sure is pretty good, but all I've seen is grades of ***�...

Anyway, unless some better movies come out around Autumn or Winter, I'm going to choose South Park as best film of the year, as I do every year. Non-SP fans probably think I'm pulling the ol' Gene Siskel on them by choosing an obscure "silly comedy" as best of the year.

BTW, if anyone's seen "Eyes Wide Shut," is it good?

I refuse to see Eyes wide shuts in the theater. Ilive in the statesm the so called land of the free, yet we are the only country to censor kubriks movie. I'll wait fo the video relase to see it how it was intended.

I would have to say, with around $50 Million at the gates, that South Park: BLU isn't an obscure comedy.

yeah, if ya want an obscure and, in my opinion, very funny movie then go rent UHF.

Love that film. Heres some more memorable moments: "Today we teach puppies to fly!" "Im thinking of something orange,,give up? its an orange!" "You so STUPID!!" "Take this crowbar and BASH MY HEAD IN WITH IT!!" and of course,,we cant forget "Plots R us" and "spatula city"

Funny you should mention that. I just recently picked up a copy of it. I had been trying for find it forever. Ahh.. good ole' eBay.

One of the best parts is near the beginning with the blind guy waiting for the bus to arrive trying to solve a Rubix Cube by asking the guy next to him :

"Is that it? ... <click> Is that it? ... <click> Is that it?"

I love that...

Judging from what i just read about it, i think i like this movie :-) What's it called? UHF? Does is stand for something, or is it just UHF? I think i've never heard about it.

It is a movie that Weird Al Yankovic wrote and starred in back in 1989. It is hilarious. UHF stands for Ultra-High Frequency, which is the frequency that the television station that he takes over in the movie runs on. It is out of print, but you should be able to rent it. Or grab a copy on eBay for about $40.
