Worst South Park Episode ever . . .
Decent plot, poor quotes, lack of development and no supplementary plots. Honestly, what were Matt and Trey thinking? Next week's episode, number 100, should be awesome.

Yep, I have to agree. That's what happens when you predicate your plot on other peoples' movies. I didn't see Silence of the Lambs or the Godfather (in fact, I didn't even know the scene was stolen from it until I read another post).
Like Red Sleigh Down, it shows how bad something becomes when you decide, "I know, I'll re-write somebody else's movie with my characters in it"
I would FAR prefer a lame, half assed SouthPark that was original, than a well thought out copy of something else. Steve PS: Although I didn't see it, I read "The Godfather" and thought it was dumb.

I dunno about The Godfather(never saw it) but Silence Of The Lambs is a great thriller movie, better than Hanibal(the sequel)
I personally liked the SOTL part, i didn't get the godfather refrence until someone pointed it out

If you haven't seen two of the most critically acclaimed movies of all time, I don't think it's any of your business to be condemning the episode for containing extended references to them ;P

Yeah, but not waking-up-next-to-a-decrapitated-horse's-head violence. (or was that Godfather I, haven't seen any of them yet, so I don't know.)

I think it was GF I, but it's the most recognized scene in the GF Trilogy

Yeah, but it's "cartoon violence." That doesn't count.

The Godfather part wasn't actually that much of a take of. The boat scene and the killing were somewhat reminiscent, but I kept thinking it looked like some other movie(Kyle talking about the calm lake reminded me of "Men in Black"). It wasn't until the played the music that I got that's what they were trying to parody.
Cartman would be a far better Vito then Al Neri, anyway.

God forbid anyone have a choice not to see certain movies. And in case you've forgotten, this is Usenet. Not everyone's going to have the same taste in movies you have.
I didn't like last night's episodes that much. I did like the Hannibal Lector kid subplot, though. Other than that, this episode sucked.
The ending was stupid. Instead of detention, the boys should've just been let off.

French roast tastes like toilet water. Dirty, burnt toilet water.
French's mustard isn't actuall French. It is English and is named after the company's founder, John Frenc.
and French dip sandwiches are po-boys with no personality.
Au contrair! Now, some AMERICAN brands of so-called "French roast" (and some South American brands especially) are terrible, espresso grind w/o the aroma. But REAL French roast is a delicacy! Nothing better than being in France in '74, waking up every morning to two cups of French coffee and three different rolls for breakfast! Now I'll have to suppose you can't stand Guinness either.
Dude, like, that wuz tha point!

Good lord, man! I never thought of it that way! I will surely run out and see those movies because of your deep, challenging insight into my fragile and broken psyche!!
I have seen both movies, by the way. And I own the DVD of Lambs. I do think both movies are good. A bit over-rated perhaps, but good.

That's like saying Jello sex is only a bit messy.
Let's put it this way: If you haven't seen these two movies, goto a DVD store and rent them. But Rent Godfather 1 first. Then Godfather II next. IMO, God II is one of the best movies ever made.
BTW, Showing your age, kid.

Why? People told me that "Taxi Driver" was fantastic, but I couldn't force myself to watch the whole thing. Why should I think that these movies, which sound like exactly the kinds of thing I can't stand, would be worthwhile for me to see?
Taxi Driver is overated. So are alot of Martin S. films.
Bobby d is great in it. So is the Bernard Hermann score. Its a shame he died right after the film. I would have liked to watch his evolution into jazz.

Well, "Great Expectations" was wholely dedicated to the book, from characters to time settings, so it was appropriate. Last week's reliance on the Godfather and Lecter movies in the day-to-day life of the SP characters was rather jarring to me.

Yeah, but it was tedious and not funny - and I've read the book.
Not living in the US, I haven't seen it so can't comment on it.
