is this episode in the season 2 DVD set that they sell?

after the initial anger that a regular episode wasnt on, i think this episode is one of the funniest episodes ever.

I'm wondering now if any version released on tape or DVD has the whole "you've waited four long weeks..." buildup and the big raspberry April Fool's is on it. And the commercial with the angry woman was just beautiful.

that build up april fools talk is there on the region 2 (UK) disks. i still think the episode is good, and wasnt "there" and when it was first shown on UK tv the date wasnt right to fit in.

But what is "Kroff dinner"!!

That be "Kraft dinner", but with the accent for a in "palm" and the kind of British accent reserved for "dance", "arse", "vase," etc. - Macaroni and cheese.

is it spelt kraft or kroff? on some south park sites its kroff, thought it was similar to about/aboot! :)

In reality, it's Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

I think the video I have does it, or the copy I made when the episode was reaired right before the movie came out has it, not sure, I'll have to look into it ;)

And, being Canadian, I thought it was great to hear our national anthom at something other than a freaking hockey game, since Americans get to hear their's almost everywhere they go :)

I've also been known to say that NWMA is one of the most Canadian patriotic shows/movies I've seen, which is pretty sad if you think about it...

SP fans are probably among the few Americans who can sing "O Canada," all because of that episode. We sang along with it when our local basketball team played the Toronto Raptors, and the fans around us thought we were very strange.

I agree with you there, I didn't start watching until 1998, just barely missing the gag, but I highly doubt I would've gotten as pissed as some apparently were.

I wonder if time & distance from the "prank" is letting more people enjoy NWMA? It was nearly universally reviled at the time, and even I seriously doubted it would ever be aired again, since it was really just a joke.

i was actually annoyed that night, why i dont know (maybe i was in a bad mood that day)i didnt watch it that night. but i watched it later that week and it was hilarious

I was there. I had watched from the first episode, anticipated the show from the promos CC had aired practically all summer. Then I moved off to college, where the local cable provider didn't carry CC! I finally resorted to downloading the rest of the season in crappy RM files through a dial-up connection.

For NWMA, I had to wait until after the show was aired and was encoded for download. As a result I knew before watching it that it was an Aprils Fools joke.

However, I figured out a while before that most likely they were going to pull an April's Fools joke. I was expecting something more along the lines of what happened in, "Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut," but I admired them for going so far. I was surprised, therefore, at the amount of venom directed at the episode. I mean, people actually *cared* who Cartman's dad was?

Even though I didn't hate the episode, I didn't think it was all that good. Ironically, NWMA as an episode is far less offensive than most of the episodes that aired before it. However, it was funny, especially Ugly Bob.

Looking back, it stands up as an incredibly well crafted stand-alone episode, with some fine points of humor and an obvious mining ground for "South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut."
