I downloaded what was supposed to be the Southpark pilot "The Spirit of Christmas". This one is a little under 4 minutes long.
It has the boys building a snowman, putting a hat on it, and it comes to life and kills Kenny (who looks like Cartman in this episode).
I also got a script for another "The Spirit of Christmas". This version starts off with the boys trading insults about Kyle being Jewish, and calling Cartman a "fatass", etc.
These are obviously NOT the same episodes. So, is there more than one "The Spirit of Christmas" pilot episode?
There are two versions of "The Spirit of Christmas."
The first one was done when Parker and Stone were in college. It's sometimes subtitled "Jesus vs Frosty" to differentiate it from the other version. It involves Frosty coming to like and killing Kenny (yes, whose character would later become Eric Cartman). Eventually, they find the Baby Jesus who kills Frosty and saves the day.
The more commonly viewed version, while also entitled "The Spirit of Christman," is sometimes refered to as "Jesus vs Santa Claus." In it, the four kids are the way we know them -- Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman, with Kyle being Jewish. It was supposedly made as a Christmas card for some friends (including George Clooney) and was passed around the Hollywood circles, getting Parker and Stone the Comedy Central contract.
This version is the one where Jesus comes to South Park looking for Santa, and they engage in a life-and-death battle. The day is saved when Brian Boitano skates in an convinces the kids to have Santa and Jesus make nice to each other (Boitano shows up after the kids first utter the immortal questions, "What would Brian Boitano do?", a question that would become famous in the South Park movie).
So, there *ARE* two versions (I have both on video tape!). Interestingly, the one you've seen -- "Jesus vs Frosty" -- is by far the rarer of the two.
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the latter one on websites for download, but it was something like 53 megs or so in size! Don't have time to deal with that!

It is crap quality, and involves a baby jesus killing Frosty the snowman.
So you're saying this is rare? Where can I get the other one?
