My Take on the Replacement Friend episode

Does anybody get the feeling that Matt and Trey are getting a little sick and tired of their own show due to the fact that they made Stan and Kyle unlikeable?

Yes I think they are just counting the days until their contract is up.

Are they all that unlikeable? I thought they are pretty plain

I think what's more likely to put them off of South Park are all the crazed, obsessive fans who whine and curse them for any change they make to the program (such as removing Kenny).

i just don't get you people. you guys seriously think that the show changed that dramatically because of the absence of a charactor that had no dialogue that ever furthered the plot, AND was dead by the end of any episode? kenny wasn't a charactor, he was a running gag.

south park has lasted as long as it has simply based on the facts that cartman is the most enjoyable animated charactor since homer simpson, and because matt and trey are extremely gifted comedians.

i really feel that having stan kyle and cartman miss kenny so much is matt and trey's way of making fun of all you that think it's such a big deal =]

Kenny is the mascot of South Park. He is the single best-known character to non-South Park viewers. In other words, in many people's minds, South Park and Kenny are one in the same. The show now just feels like News Radio did after one of the actors (the one who played Bill McNeal) died.

I have, and I've come up with the radical theory that non-SP viewers don't mean squat when defining SP characters. Why not ask SP viewers what they think the "mascot" of SP is instead of non-SP viewers? Ever think of that? Are you going to ask people who go to USC what the mascot of Penn State is, or are you going to ask Penn State students?
