Yeah, but it was more a parody of a bunch of mid 80's movies. That formula was used in Summer Camp, Karate Kid, etc.

Sho' Nuff. The '80s were the decade of the music video, after all.

That explains the cheesy 80's music played in the background. A time when ski movies were big.

There was also no mention of snowboarding, which is all the rage these days.
