School Bans

An elementary school down the street from my house announced yesterday that any item related to South Park is considered against the schools dress policy and will not be tolerated. They used the typical Texas elementary school rule of "students may not wear any item considered offensive by any other student or teacher", no doubt they had no problems finding a teacher who thinks a Kenny shirt is offensive. BTW, this is the same city that has over 15 child deaths related to heroin in the past 18 months. Looks like they dont know what priorities are.

I just wish people would undertand that this is an adult cartoon! What worries me is why elementary kids are allowed to stay up past 10:00 to watch a show listed as "TV MA". Don't blame the show -- look to the parents.

I agree with you Sheac. Kids that age shouldn't be watching that.

Someone should claim that they are offended by the color pink or something equally stipid and see if they ban that color. They should according to their rules. If they don't then you have a violation of your freedom of expression since the rule only applies when it is convinent.

I think it's every parents decesion of their own. i'm 13 & love it. So do at least 8 of my best friends. We don't even get comedy central. If your parents say no, thats their decesion. My mom loves it too.

You are absolutely correct. A large portion of parents rely on the world (schools, tv, strangers) to raise the children for them. They have no control over the moral content of the childrens lives so they rely on the general public to keep offensive material away from them. Ridiculous!!
