Yep, it's a movie ref. Actually, the entire "Scott Tenorman Must Die" episode is based on the movie "Titus" (released in 1999, starring Anthony Hopkins), which itself was based on William Shakespeare's first play, 'Titus Andronicus.' I strongly suspect Matt & Trey's ep was based on the former.

If you have a fairly strong stomach (and you're a SP fan, so I suspect you do), and you can deal with bizarre, experimental cinema, Titus is quite an interesting film to behold. I don't want to spoil the movie for you (on the chance that you may decide to rent the vid), but let's just say it's got a surreal blend of ancient Roman settings, 16th century dialogue, and 20th century props, with characters that appear to be oddly out of place and right where they ought to be at the same time. The film got mixed reviews -- I personally liked it; others I've spoken with found it too "out there" for their tastes.

BTW, the "screaming up into the pouring rain" shot was also used (rather intentionally) by Kevin Smith in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," which was released in 2001.

I was kind of disappointed with this episode, most of it was ok but the ending was done very poorly I thought.
