New SP season info
HOLY BUTTSCHNIKES! I hope not! Could you imagine a bunch of hack writers making
the show? I hope Mr. Stone and Mr. Parjer remember what got them so many
"offers". Let us all hope that Conan O Brien isn't hired as a writer...oh no!

Hey! Conan does good stuff. As for other writers, if they do get someone else, I hope it's not just some 2 bit hack who puts in fart and race jokes every half minute.

I agree. Conan is a very funny guy. I love the Simpsons but you gotta admit that the last season or 2 has not been as uproariously funny as previous seasons. I don't know when exactly Conan left Simpsons, but they just ain't as funny as they used to be.
LM
Conan was primarily a producer(I don't really know what a cartoon producer does) I think he was credited with writing only one or two episodes.

I didn't even know he did anything for the Simpsons. I know him from his show that's on after Leno.
Conan O'Brien was primarily a producer during the fourth and fifth seasons of the Simpsons. He is credited as the writer on three episodes plus one part of a Halloween Special. I feel really only one episode he wrote stands out in my mind; a couple others I feel are among the worst of the series.
A new writing staff could be good or bad news for "South Park"; it will be OK as long as Trey and Matt keep artistic control on everything...just so nothing inferior to them gets on the air.
The very problem with the Simpsons these days is that the people who made it what it was have basically let a bunch of hacks take over and in some cases become the executive producers. Very little of what's on the show these days is consistent with the vision established by the founders. I doubt many of them have even seen episodes older than three or four years ago.
I hope SP can avoid the same fate.
In article ,
Conan started his talk show in late 1993... which means he only wrote for the Simpsons in its first few seasons.
And he had a masturbating bear as a regular on his show long before South Park came on the air. And wanking is one of the few issues South Park has yet to touch upon, so to speak.
Conan also used to be a writer for david letterman, who also was seen on camera once in a while, lile chris elliot (although chris elliot's carreer pretty much went way down hill).

That's really a shame, too. I liked Get A Life, for the short time it was on. He was in a good movie, too, which eludes me now. Cabin Boy wasn't all that bad, either.
I have a friend who has every episode of get A Life on video. What a great show that was. Shame they took it off, but that's FOX for ya. Cabin Boy was indeed a bad movie, but I liked it anyway. The "good movie" you were referring to, was that Abyss you're thinking of? He has a small part as a navigations officer (or something like that).

No, it was a movie that he was either the star or played a signifigant part in. The Abyss was the one about the underwater mining operation that discovered that weird thing in a trench, right? That was a rather good movie.
Perhaps you're referring to "Groundhog's Day" with Bill Muray?

Got to call you on this one, Bob. Chris Elliot a good comedian? You must be stoned--he stinks like a fresh-baked turd. But he was in "Manhunter" for two seconds, so his "total body of work" isn't a complete embarassment.

Alas, I am not. Would that I were, though.
He has that 'Hey, look at me, I'm an idiot!' vibe going for him. I'm not familiar with Manhunter, what is it?
Reverend Bob wrote:
The Michael Mann-directed movie that "Silence of the Lambs" was actually a sequel to, with William Petersen as charisma-impaired F.B.I. agent Will Graham, Brian Cox as sanity-challenged gourmet Hannibal Lecter, and Chris Elliot as the F.B.I. specialist whose only line is something about the "Tooth Fairy" keeping his felt-tipped pen upright as opposed to upside-down, or something.

I have to agree with you. Don't worry about the criticism, it takes an advanced sense of humor to appreciate Chris Elliot. BTW, he was also in Kingpin as a high roller.

Yeah, he was in that for a scene. It was something else, something semi-big. I guess I'll have to breakdown and go search the IMDB.
