How did the film get recieved in Canada?

Did they get uppity about being blamed for everything? Or did they see the joke and was it as popular over there?

It was *very* popular here in Canada. It got great reviews and made lots of money. I was at a theatre in Toronto on opening night and the place went wild for it. We "got" the joke.
