Fanfic Awards

Since everyone is beginning to warm to the idea of having a Fanfic awards thing, I thought that we ought to do it at the end of the year - make it the 1998 Fanfic Awards and make that the official one rather than having several...

That way we can have more awards and have a couple announced every day for the last couple of weeks.

People would visit website and enter their votes in the first two weeks in December and the results would be announced in the last two, with the two big awards 'Best Overall Fanfic' and 'Best Overall Fanfic Writer' being announced on December 31st. We can also have a large amount of nominations in several categories so everyone can get nominated for something...

Oh yes, people I would like to meet;

Kyle Martin Kim Ashley Alyssa Toni and... Roman, to do to him what Wendy did to Miss Ellen!

Please reply and give your opinions on the fanfic idea!

I think I should do the awards show because it is already organized for me I have a list of Catigorys nominees and presenters thankyou for your time

THis is a *super-great* idea.

I can write a CGI script for the voting that would automatically tally the votes and everything! What do you guys think? I could start this afternoon.

Also, we should start having votes for the categories & nominations ASAP.

The *official* CGI script beta version for fanfic awards voting is up. It has not categories, jsut go there and see how it tallies up all of the votes automagically. I can have more than the two categories (infinate, really) and nominees in each category.

Now We just need some ideas for categories and nominees for these categories. If anybody has some please tell us by responding to this thread.

These are all the ones I can think of at the moment, please add some more (davester, can you take a note down of all these?)

I suggets that the nominations will be finalised at a later date by a team of four or five and then put up on the website and you shoudl hopefully be allowed to vote from the beginning of December)

Lifetime Achievement Award Overall Best Fanfic Runner up Best Fanfic Overall Best Fanfic Writer Runner up Fanfic Writer Best serious fanfic Best 'scripted' fanfic Best 'narrative' fanfic Best Spoof Fanfic Best first fanfic Best new fanfic writer (need a date to be used for this) Best New Character Best Fanfic One-Liner Best Kenny fic Worst Fanfic best continued fanfic (i.e. 2 parters, 3 parters, etc)

Um, no offense, ds, but you're not exactly the world's best speller, and you look kinda unorganized sometimes..I think Mike has this plotted out a little better, but your idea of fanfic authors being the presenters is great..maybe you both should work together.
