I saw this yesterday and I have to say I agree with you the show was unfunny.
The Muhammed issue was just just lame comapred to the hatchet job SP did on Scientology and the Mormons. If they can attack the superstitious beliefs of others why couldn't they mention Muhammed's paedophilia and bigamy?
I like Family Guy but I have only seen the first four seasons.
I don't think it will last much longer.
The show has changed, with much more obvious reference to "real issues", rather than fart jokes and such. An issue-oriented show is good, but sometimes can stifle creativity and make the plotlines predictable. I think Matt and Trey themselves have gotten more interested in these types of issues, as reflected in the current evolution of the show. The Chef episode was personal, but still pretty funny.
Family Guy is similar and different. To be angry about being compared to something else is just idiotic.
That would actually be funny. Although they should return to it a couple weeks later and pretend that the first part had just shown.
They are only on the 5th season right now.
Considering that it's been cancelled 3 times already and restored every time, I doubt your statement.

That SP episode was very political but i laughed my ass off at the same time, FG still makes me laugh but they are out of ideas. I find about half of the cut-away scenes funny and the other half are usually drawn out or gimmicky.
