I think Butter deserves to be one of the main characters. I mean Timmy is not even as half funny as he is.

Sorry, Timmy is the least funny character in the show. I don't know why they haven't gotten rid of him yet. Butters, on the other hand, is funny, but shouldn't be made one of the main characters. He's a perfect supporting character and should stay that way.

You really don't? Obviously you do not like him. But you must realize that the character is very popular. They even had a whole month of SP reruns dedicated to him.
But he is turning out to be a flash-in-the-pan sort of character, of very limited use.

I think the problem with making him a main character may be that doing so will reveal too much about him, and take away from the mysteriousness of his character, which is part of his appeal.

Mine too. I also love Terrance, Phillip, and Scott, but I sort of feel that they exist in another universe, even though T&P have been to South Park twice now.

It's weird. Everyone was talking about Kenny being pushed away from the main cast and Timmy taking his place. I was so worried about it, that I failed to notice that Butters was slowly inching his way towards becoming a major player. In the most recent episode, I was so used to seeing Butters interacting with the other kids that it didnt bother me to see him taking Kenny's place next to Stan, Kyle and Cartman. I dont want to see it happen all the time, though.
Butters is kind of a one-act show. The kid who's always afraid of getting into trouble and wonders what'll happen "if." I like Tweak a lot more. "AAH!"
