Just watched the Christmas episode and listened to the CD, in particular, "Merry Fucking Christmas" song sung by Mr. Garrison. With lines like "So get off that heathen Muslim ass, and fucking celebrate" and by deliberately mispronouncing Mohammed as "MOO-hammed", I thought they might just be pushing it a little bit.
Anyways, let's not let word of it get out into the Islam newsgroups.
I don't know if they'll go that far, but the possibility of him getting violently confronted in the parking lot by a mob of Muslim fanatics does seem very real.

You've no idea how many stories that fed dreamed up while sitting on the john...
Love that episode... Michael McKean is a great actor.
Did you catch him in the episode where the Lone Gunmen go to Vegas? It's a brief cameo in a bar where Scully is blitzed and surrounded by a dozen or so suit-wearing assholes. Hillarious scene... one of my favorite eps, too.
----- Lone Wolf There's a reason that banana is in my ear. I'm trying to get the little monkey out of my head.
"No ticket." - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade/Dogma
"Forget pathetisad... is 'weirdork' a word?" "I dunno... is sarcastabitch a word?" - Kate and Drew, The Drew Carey Show
Hehehehe......I love that ep too, namely because Scully was acting like this total tease-so very unScully-like of her. It was great. I also think it's funny that the Lone Gunmen are scared of her. They were hesitant to call her and trick her into thinking Mulder asked her to go to Vegas and one of them said, "She's gonna kick our asses".
Since that was just making fun of Saddam Hussein, and not Islam itself, I don't think Matt and Trey have much to worry about, unless of course, Saddam somehow successfully invades America. Then again, I suppose sending undercover goons to take them out is not out of the question, that is, if Saddam can actually be bothered with petty matters like this.
That is so ironic, here's part of the Maxim interview with Matt & Trey that explains that,if someone wants me to post the rest just let me know: DO YOU EVER THINK OOPS, MAYBE WE'RE GOING TOO FAR?: Trey Parker: The only time that came up is when we were going to do a thing on the Nation of Islam. Comedy Central was, like, "You can't, because you'll be killed. We have a franchise to protect." Matt Stone: Yeah, no skydiving, and no harassing the nation of Islam. WHAT BIZARRE H0LLYWOOD DEATH DO YOU IMAGINE YOURSELF HAVING? Trey: We were sort of thining we'd get killed in a-what's it called-a fatwah. Matt: Yeah, a holy war. Like that Salman Rushdie dude. Trey: Because we put Saddam Hussein in our movie as full on gay... Matt: And he's drinking and smoking-all against Islamic law. Trey: We're already talking about our gravestones-KILLED BY THE IRAQIS.
Lori People only find offensive what they can't deal with -Trey Parker
Sure, here's the whole interview along with some pics in case nobody didn't get to see thease: http://www.geocities.com/evilminx/maxim2.jpg http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Movie/2705/maxim.jpg
WHERE DID YOU LEARN TO DRAW?; Trey: We didn't-just look at the show. Matt-I can't draw a thing.
WHAT DRUGS WERE YOU ON WHEN YOU INVENTED MR. HANKY, THE TALKING CHRISTMAS TURD?; Trey: My dad invented Mr Hanky. He screwed with me all the time when i was a kid. He told me that if I didn't flush the toilet, the little guy come alive, jump out and kill me.
WEIRD. SO WHICH ONE OF YOU IS THE SICKER BASTARD?; Trey: We're just sick in different ways. I'm more sick and evil, and Matt is more sick and fucked up. Matt: Yeah. I'm sick and twisted, but I'm not evil. Trey is evil.
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT GROSSES YOU GUYS OUT?; Trey: German shit videos. We thought they would be really funny, but Matt seriously threw up. Matt: I have a strong stomach for blood, guts, car accidents. But if there's a pile of shit in there, I get queasy. It was the texture-they would shit in each other's mouths like it was soft serve ice cream. You have to think about what's in German shit. It's not just McDonald's. Trey: If it were Japanese people shitting on each other, it wouldn't be so bad. But the combination of shit....and Germans...the schnitzel...
DO YOU EVER THINK OOPS, MAYBE WE'RE GOING TOO FAR?: Trey: The only time that came up is when we were going to do a thing on the Nation of Islam. Comedy Central was, like, "You can't, because you'll be killed. We have a franchise to protect." Matt: Yeah, no skydiving, and no harassing the nation of Islam.
WHAT'S THE DAMN DEAL WITH YOU AND MUSICAL NUMBERS?: Matt: Trey is a huge musial fan. Trey: When I go to New York, it's every matinee and every night. I grew up in this small mountain town, and there was this group of teachers and gas station owners and the supermarket guy, and they would put on all these musicals in a little barn. Matt: I never liked musicals, but I was, like yeah, let's make the South Park movie a musical because it's more fucked up to do a R-rated musical.
WHAT KINDS OF GROUPIES DO CARTOON GUYS ATTRACT?: Matt: Pimply 14 year old boys. Trey: Some totally hot girl will come up and say, "Oh, my god, my boyfriend just loves your show. Can I get your autograph for him?"
WHERE'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO MEET GIRLS?: Trey: Strip clubs. There's no bullshit there, because it all comes down to "You're hot-I got money."
WHAT'S THE MOST YOU'VE EVER SPENT ON THE STRIPPERS IN ONE NIGHT?: Trey: Oh dude, easily $5,000. Because we'll be at a club from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m., and I'm just buying for everybody.
WHATS THE MOST YOUVE EVER SPENT ON A REAL DATE?: Trey: Maybe $200. I prefer strippers. They're more independent, and not, like, "Give me this, give me that."
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN THROWN OUT OF A RESTARAUNT?: Trey: At Sundance we were sitting with a bunch of Canadian independent filmmakers at this really nice restaraunt. I decided to break the ice by asking them to sing the Canadian national anthem. One of them looked at me and said, "So I'm your little performing monkey now?" I said that if they'd sing it, I'd pull down my pants. So they all started singing, and we stood on our chairs and pulled down our pants. Matt: Only I wasn't wearing any underwear, so the restaraunt threw us out.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE WORST SOUTH PARK MERCHANDISING IDEA?: Matt: We turn down stuff all the time. They wanted to make fuckin' South Park bibs for babies-shit that's real kid-oriented. We even turned down Game Boy. It would have put money in our pockets, but Game Boys are for kids, and this show is not for kids.
DO PEOPLE PICK FIGHTS WITH YOU?: Matt: The guy who does the voice of the Chihuahua on the Taco Bell commercials tried to pick a fight with me in some bar. Apparently this guy is a fucking dick. I was with my girlfriend and this other girl, and he was like, "Oh, if I was a South Park guy, I'd get chicks too." He was all angry. It got so bad I decided to go outside for a while. Yo quiero Taco Bell.
WHAT BIZARRE H0LLYWOOD DEATH DO YOU IMAGINE YOURSELF HAVING?: Trey: We were sort of thining we'd get killed in a-what's it called-a fatwah.
WHATS THE WORST IDEA FOR A MOVIE YOUVE BEEN ASKED TO DO?: Matt: Baseketball. That's why we did it. Trey: I thought, this is the dumbest movie I have ever fucking seen. We have to do this. Matt: That's what lures us to projects-that it's fucking stupid. Who wants to be part of a good idea?
