The blue faces popping out the side of Cartman's head was a tip to Contact.

To alter consciousness he developed the sensory-deprivation chamber, combined with large doses of various hallucinogenic drugs. His favorite was ketamine, the surgical anesthetic that is popular as a club drug; he claimed he once went 100 days in a row on ketamine, even learning to ski under its influence. From what I heard, he went insane from all the drugs and had to be committed for awhile.
