The whole point of S.P. is irreverance. If you're pissed because they pulled a fast one, then you don't get the joke. granted, the ep. wasn't the best, but it was still better than most of the crap on tv. So to all the people bitching and whining...get over yourself and go study for your Algebra test tomorrow.

You say irreverance I say disrespect. That effort was an "in your face" insult. The whole idea of a joke is to be funny, amusing, memorable, different. It was none of those.

Irreverence and disrespect are the same thing. It just depends on whether it's directed at you or not.
Personally, I think that anything that has generated this much whining certainly qualifies as "memorable" and "different." And I find the whining of people who are supposed to be enjoying an irreverant and extremely direspectful show to be far, far more funny and amusing than the episode itself. Which just had too damn many fart jokes.
So what you're saying is, irreverence and disrespect are only funny when they're directed at others, like Barbra Streisand, but not at you, right? Ha. Egg on your face.

Well, there is the matter of biting the hand that feeds, and that hand is not Streisand. It's the audience. It seems Matt and Trey are still young and foolish and haven't quite grasped this principle yet.
An April Fools joke is okay, but boring us half to death for 30 minutes isn't. I can forgive them just this once, but DON'T EVER DO IT AGAIN!
Well la dee da, I'm sure they'll give you a phone call now and apologize. I just hope you're not one of the types that complains about them "selling out", because listening to what people want and providing it IS selling out.
They took a chance. I think it worked, you don't. There have been less than stellar eps. before, there will be some in the future. If you want the show to ever be funny and non-formulaic, they're going to do this.
