The swear words weren't edited, exactly. The bleeps are part of the show. Whenever the scripts call for excessive vulgarity, bleeps are written in in place of the actual words, because it's funnier...and because the show would never get aired if the word "fuck" kept popping up, even on cable (well, if it aired on HBO or The Movie Channel, it would). So, no, your government isn't censoring the show. The bleeps are just part of it.

Actually, there *are* swear words in the show, but they're bleeped before CC even gets a show. So they're censored before they leave the production studio.

Whether the bleeps are there or not we all still know exactly what their all saying. Would the show be any better if all the bleeps were removed and the real words put in?

And anyway, thats what makes the Southpark FILM relatively funny. The fact that they get to swear in the film makes up over half the films jokes. If they'd been able to swear in the TV version the film wouuld have been shite.

I think I have the first airing on video somewhere, but "bullshit" was already edited out when the episode originally aired.

The bleeps are also on the videos of the show for sale/rental (except the movie, of course), so I'm sure they are just part of the show.
