The point is, the first 6 or 8 times this episode aired, Cartman said "dirty Jew" without any bleeping. This time (4/15/98), "dirty" was bleeped out, like it was one of the words that must be censored. What we all want to know is "WHY?" (well, maybe not ALL of us, but some of us would like to know). This raised my curiosity as well. I'm assuming they decided having Cartman call Kyle's mom a fucking jew in response to T&P turning him into a "potty" mouth was funnier than dirty jew. It's is funnier, but it's kinda weird seeing this episode 6-7 times and all of a sudden a bleep.
Or possibly originally he called her fucking and they changed it to dirty to avoid a bleep, then changed it back. Who knows?
I don't think it's any Zionist censorship conspiracy or anything, but I wonder if Cartman is going to call Kyle's mom dirty or fucking jew in the video release?

Okay, I don't know if anyone has thought of this, but maybe the real original episode did have Cartman saying "fucking Jew" and Comedy Central just overdubbed the word "fucking" and put in "dirty jew" instead. Makes sense to me. That is what they do with movies when they play on prime time TV.
That would not only explain why Cartman said "dirty Jew" in the originally aired episode on Comedy Central, and why it sounds like he is saying "fucking Jew" now that it is only bleeped. Maybe Matt and Trey like it better with the bleep instead of the overdubbed words. To me, it makes the kids sound more obnoxious when it is bleeped.

Well, I noticed that SP is now closed captioned and last Wednesday's episode still had "dirty Jew" on the captions. I guess somebody forgot to inform HBO, co-owners of Comedy Central and the people who put the captions on the show, that the bleep had been placed on the episode. They're the same people who caption some of the edited HBO comedy specials (the captions themselves aren't edited).
Actually, you can't say pussy, cock, or dick on TV (or radio as mocked in Private Parts) in America unless you're referring to a person's name, a title ( a dick is also short [insert your own joke here] for detective] or another name of an animal. I think Comedy Central is the only American network who used the ratings system correctly by not completely censoring themselves, though last week's repeat episode was an enigma to me.

Well, I think that maybe the Jewish were complaining about that, so maybe they edited out "dirty" so it wouldn't be oppressing them so badly. Other than that, I don't see why they did that. And I KNOW that "dirty" is not a bad word that they must censor out.

Its not dirty alone, or jew alone- just combining them to make the phrase dirty jew, is the problem, and fucking jew wasnt implied-just bleeping out a word doesnt meen that word is "fuck"

Bullshit. The actual criteria used in the US now are Words that describe, in graphic or patently offensive terms judged by "prevailing community standards, sexual or excretory acts or organs."
As long as you are not referring directly to a certain part of the male anatomy, you are in the clear. That's why Philip can say "'Cause you're a dick?" to Scott.
Theoretically, the other "taboo" words are okay as long as they are used colloquially, it's just that nobody has really tried to push the envelope for those words. (Well, Trey and Matt may be, but CC won't take the risk.) Supposedly, you can say "what is that shit?" as long as you are not pointing at a pile of feces. Or say "That Fucking Dog!" but not "That Dog, Fucking!" because the second one implies a sexual act.

It wasn't the Pink Eye Halloween episode where Cartman called Kyle's mom "a dirty Jew". It was the Death episode. Comedy Central bleeped out the word "dirty" in recent airings of Death and I heard it was also bleeped out in the home video version as well.
