Touche, Andy. Touche.

Well, most people in the free world have.

Goofballs??!! Goof ... BALLS???!!! They are Sex Gods! I didn't always think so, but one day I was innocently watching some SP episodes I'd rented and I guess the Fireside Chats got to me, because that night I dreamed that Trey and Matt were staying at my house, and they wanted to buy a piece of meat to animate, so my husband took Trey to the grocery store to pick out the perfect meat (infinite entendres here), and Matt and I started getting it on, and ... well, that's how this insane obsession began.

Hmmm ... are you underestimating them or overestimating them? ;> I've gotten a couple of e-mails saying "Like your stuff, cool that you're a SP fan," but mostly I think South Parkateers don't know or care who I am, and that's fine with me.

I should just answer this by saying I can type with one hand! But seriously, yes, if it didn't turn me on, I'd be surprised if it turned anyone else on. That's why so much of my stuff is male-male, even though I am frequently exhorted (usually by straight male readers) to put some chicks in it ... chicks just don't turn me on!

Nah, if I'd done that, it would've had to be TWO dreams, like "Flashbacks."

So far, yes, unfortunately. (I'm happily married, but I have a Matt & Trey exemption from my husband, should they ever reach that level of insanity ... )

Oh my god, was that the book with Peter David naked???

The worst part was hitting the ground, not the feeling as much as the sound Can't help but wonder if all this is real 'Cause tonight is the night, I fell asleep at the wheel

I understand completely. That's the same reason I have Matt & Trey's nude Absolut ad ... in b/w *and* color. ;>

There's a picture of me where my belly is full of gaping teeth, but no, the one you're talking about is not me. Might be Lydia Lunch, who also did a lot of modeling for Potter -- I haven't seen the photo in a while.

Thanks ... I think. I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Clive Barker nekkid, but his boyfriend might object.

Yes, I get that a lot. I don't really see it, but then I haven't seen many of her movies. I'd rather look like her than Exene Cervenka, which is the other celebrity comparison I get -- mExene's cool, but she's looking kinda rough these days.

I know ... it makes me nuts! I don't even want to say how many times I've watched their makeout scene in "BASEketball." I'll just say it's probably over 50 and won't be at all surprised when the tape snaps in that spot.

Then, of course,

Collaboration between attractive and talented men just drives me wild. I've had a Lennon/McCartney fetish since I was 13.

Huh-huh-huh ... You said "thingies" ... huh-huh-huh ... That's cool.

As long as you park your car and get me stoned ... OK, I'm really reaching here ...

Me either ... I live in New Orleans, where Rice is not as popular as you might expect. I've never actually made it through one of her books, so I'll reserve judgement on that, but she's one hell of an annoying neighbor. Sort of our own little Barbra Streisand.

It's a long list, and some of them may or may not qualify as horror, but ... Peter Straub, Ramsey Campbell, Dennis Cooper, Thomas Ligotti, Stephen King, Kathe Koja, Ian McDowell, Robert Devereaux (I suspect any South Park fan would enjoy his novel SANTA STEPS OUT), Dan Simmons, Brian Hodge (who, as a Boulder resident, I'm trying to convince to write the definitive Alferd Packer bio), Norman Partridge, David J. Schow, and a host of others I'm unconscionably forgetting -- but there's a start. (I haven't listed Caitlin R. Kiernan and Christa Faust, though I love their work, since they are two of my closest friends and we even shared a website until I started my own.)

Wow poppy, your the second person this week who suggested Santa Steps out to me.

I tend to breeze thru the descriptions the first time I read a book just to get the story. The seond time I'm a lot slower. Sadly, I keep trying to get more descriptive with my own stuff every year. Not as badly as most of the females in the publishing industry in the mid-80s. Man, you should have heard the catfights about who was going to get to "show Clive around" (read: fuck him) when he first came to New York. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth ensued when they learned he was gay.

It will happen. It would have happened sooner if my computer hadn't just crashed, but I have to say my new machine is S-W-E-E-T.

If she's a treasure, we need more trash. MEOW!

Yes, I quite like what I've read and think he's a very nice guy, though I found THE GIRL NEXT DOOR to be uncomfortably derivative of Kate Millett's nonfiction book THE BASEMENT. I'm aware that both books are based on the same real-life case and there was bound to be some similarity, but in certain spots TGND seemed like a page-for-page retelling of THE BASEMENT. Other than this quibble, I've enjoyed all the Ketchum I've read.
