What a loser this guy is. Perhaps a troll. Self-proclaimed dead-head posts more to Southpark and the the GD newsgroups!! Perhaps that says something about where his loyalties lie. Go away! Nobody wants to see your petty whining about Jerry being in Hell, because that's where he is and that's where he is gonna stay. I don't think anybody wants to join your stupid dead head cult. I've never seen any one person who was better off being a dead head. All dead heads I've EVER known were either homeless, or poor, extremely manipulative with no sense of honor. Instead of selling that grateful dead merchandise crap, go get a real job and stop posting here, you pathetic twit.

What's a dead head?

Overlord

That's the nickname given to (and also used by) fans of The Grateful Dead musical group.

You see,

DEAD: void of life or activity HEAD: region of the body where thinking occurs

You do the math.

;)

No offense to GD fans; just really tired of all the spam for the Grateful Dead merchandise, in a South Park newsgroup, of all places.

Cute, but your etymology is flawed. They are only called Deadheads because they are fans of 'The Dead'. Fans of Led Zeppelin may well have ended up being called Zepheads.

As for what 'Grateful Dead' means, well, it's based on an old parable. Really pretty interesting.

Personally, I think it'd make more sense to call 'em "LedHeads".

I've only heard the term LedHeds used...heh. And most of the LZ fans I know would SHOOT you if you called them LedHeds.

I was making a joke. That's why I said "No offense to Grateful Dead fans; I'm just sick of the spam selling Grateful Dead merchandise," which you snipped off my words below. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but if it wasn't:

Fans of the Grateful Dead are not called deadheads because there is no life or activity in the region of their bodies where thinking normally would occur; that was just a joke I made since one of them is a complete idiot who is spamming this group with ads for Grateful Dead crap, among other useless posts.

It's a Mexican or Spanish thing I recall...I haven't read Jerry's bio in like 2 years.

A Mexican thing. November 1 is the Day of the Dead there, and people dress as skeletons and walk around. It is a time to celebrate the return of the dead, for Death is a friend there, allowing the living to commune with their dearly depated that one day a year. Bread is baked and adorned to look like skulls.
