Celine Dion's lawyer would like to make it clear that his client has never been enamored of Michael Jackson. She has never dressed up as Jackson for Halloween. She has never danced at a screening of a Jackson video. She never thought that this video was great. She never had a crush on Jackson. She never met Naomi Campbell with Jackson.
This was made clear in a letter written to a supermarket tabloid, the National Examiner, which wanted to publish an excerpt from an unauthorized paperback biography, "Celine Dion: Behind the Fairy Tale" (Boca Publications Group), the first book by one Ian Halperin. It declares there "is not one scintilla of truthfulness in the malicious, fictional, and fabricated story."
What is strange about this case is that the information Dion disputes seems relatively harmless. Said her lawyer: "My clients are very litigious when it comes to protecting their reputation."
