BL&U - Has Paramount and Warner Brothers Gone Insane!!

Just got back from my local video retailer to find that they want $110.00 for a VHS copy of South Park BL&U and I also just checked on Amazon.COM and they want $103.00 plus shipping and handling for a VHS copy.

I would like to know what in the HELL the guys at Paramount and Warner Brothers Home Video were thinking when they priced this movie to charge over $100 for a videotape which will probably not last as long as a DVD and yet the DVD is a lot less running about $17-$20.

Remember when the son of Chipmunk creator Ross Bagadasarian got greedy and released The Chipmunk Adventure movie on video for over $150.00 and nobody bought the tape at all and even after the price was finally lower to around $30.00 the damage was done and the video was eventurally taken off of the shelves never to be sold again.

Now I would HATE to see that happen so I urge you to write to Paramount and Warner Brothers and tell them that you want the price of South Park : Bigger, Longer and Uncut VHS tape lowered!

what a twisted version of history you have. the chipmunks (as fucked up an example as that is) was not intended to be sold to anyone other than video store owners...hence the astronomical price. after it had run it's course on video it was released to sell.

if you want them to get a nice giggle out of your letter you go right ahead and write them.

OK, here it is. Right now, the VHS copy is only for rental. Most rental places (Blockbuster) pay expensive prices for these copies (~$100). In a few months, the VHS copy will be put out for sale (~$20). So, in other words, for now either buy the DVD, or rent away, and then buy the VHS when it's for sale.

dude chill. that's the rental price. when it gets "properly" released on vhs it should be at whatever amount you guys pay for. personally i'd rather get a copy on dvd NOW. any word on when it'll be released here in the uk? any f**kups on the extra's?
