Babylon 5 and South Park

In the past few weeks, i've started to notice that a lot of South Park fans are also Babylon 5 fans and vise versa. This first came to my attention when SP episode #207, City on the Edge of Forever, was released, and I found postings in alt.tv.southpark and alt.tv.babylon5, none of them crossposts, suggesting that the big scary monster was one of the Shadows. More recently, in a posting in alt.tv.southpark regarding SP and millitary history, I noticed that the poster's signature was a quote by J. Michael Straczynski, and he even went so far as to abbreviate it JMS as Babylon 5 fans are apt to do. I'd like to see what the rest of you think of this.

I've been a fan of B5 for awhile now, and only a week ago did I see my first SP episode (cartman's anal probe). Then I borrowed a tape my Uncle had been making, and I have now seen every first season SP episode! I gotta say that i now love both B5 & SouthPark! =)

I thought it was just coincidence. There ar a couple of us at work who are big fans of both. So this site was hysterical. I'd like to e-mail the site author and tell him/her so but there was no email address.
