They are great artists Why dont they sing? They will probably be my favorite band, after Blink 182 of course :)

Alf used to be cool. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rocked. Vanilla Ice was cool too (Dont EVEN deny it). Punky brewster was sweet too.

And now where are the people that created all of this? Oblivion. Then when you see a mention of Southpark in a couple decades, you'll say "Oh, I remember that!"

Not every form of media fades into obscurity and sends their creators into oblivion. Have you heard of any of these people (who are definitely not in oblivion)

Why do people always single out Bart? There's a buttload of bad influences in that show. I always thought the authority figures in that show earned the disrespect they were shown.

True, but at Bart's age (10) kids are more influenced by their peers than by their parents or other authority figures. And Bart is something like a peer.

Spend enough time with kids and they'll figure out you're not Homer. (Unless you're Groening's dad.) That's the problem, most kids don't get the socialization needed for a good real world frame of reference.

Besides, from the past few years of episodes and scatter throughout the run of the show, Bart has showed a lot of heart.

They've done the Chef Aid album, the BLU soundtrack, and Mr Hankey's X-mas classics. I'm sure they could have squeezed in a DVDA album if they were at all interested in doing so.

They are, now. But if their music is any good and they promote it well, people may well forget about this cartoo- ahem, animated series, and follow the band. If the music sucks, they will remain the "South Park guys". The series will live on in my heart, anyway.

Well, half-tongue-in-cheek. When the show first aired they expected to make four episodes and run with whatever money they made from them. They had no expectations for the series, and figured they'd be off the air so fast no one would know they were ever on. They'd use the money to outfit the band and pursue their musical careers. But since the show took off, those plans had to be shelved. Now that there are 27 episodes left, they can look forward to touring with the band. In fact, they're thinking of touring in May and June, between episode groups. But no CD's yet.

I think they'd rather enjoy their success right now, and tour from time to time.

Ok, I'll back off from my "never say never" attitude. But the impression I get is that the band is for *them*, to have fun with, who gives a rat's ass if they'd sell a gazillion CD's. Don't expect them to put out a CD unless they *want* to, no matter how loud the fans scream.

They didn't. They went to university. Matt did get degrees in film and math. Trey dropped out, but was majoring in music and Japanese. They met in film class at university and made some shorts together. Trey has been involved in music since he was 15, though. If anything, Trey and Matt wanted to work in TV, not in film, and so their South Park pilot (interesting, since they had "Cannibal: The Musical," "Orgazmo," and some porno films under their belts). Still, they said early on that they weren't here to work as animators, but to make some episodes and then move on to touring with their band.

In '94 Parker and Stone went to San Diego as part of a BBC crew to shoot a documentary about porn in America. During the shoot, they approached Tim Lake, a man who had his own porn company and presented him with a script about the industry. Tim liked it, but took them to some sets to get the porn stuff right. This leads to "Orgazmo." Porn films Parker and Stone worked on with Tim Lake: "Profiles for the Young and Horny" and "Sex for Life."

If you see either of these films, let us know what you think. I've already seen Orgazmo.
