Ya know, ever since South Park has decided to do satire and parodies instead of trying to get cheap laughs from Cartman's sorry ass, the show has gotten better. And this more than evident in tonight's episode, which I thought was going to be "Starvin Marvin in Space", but turned out to be about two home schooled kids instead. And I liked it a lot.
Things I liked: ---------------
*The monkey spanking his monkey when he was supposed to be helping Cartman in the spelling bee. Very funny. *When Kyle asks for the word in a sentence during the spelling bee, the mayor responds with "Cryxelclsizic(whatever the word is!) is a very hard word to spell." I laughed myself to tears because of that one. *The homeschool boy in the bubble. I liked that. *Kyle and Rebecca. It's about time Kyle started liking girls, because deep down I always knew he was a smoothie and capable of subduing any girl he wanted. So he turns her into a slut, so what? Kyle rocks the house and I'm glad he got the air time he deserves. He and Rebecca should return in later episodes. We need a lasting love interest on SP, because not enough time is focused on Wendy and Stan. Oh, and Rebecca in the whore clothing was hilarious. And the Home School boy's line: "You tried to hold back her sexuality, and now she's a damn whore" was just brillant. And then one of the boys said, "Heh, you're damn right" was really funny, as he Rebecca had already given him some. *Kenny's death. Damn, that monkey can kick some serious ass! *We got to see more of the South Park Elementary Kids in action, and IMO this is where the action should be. It seems whenever the adults show up it is just a re-hash of the main points in the plot that the kids have already done, as with the duct taping the kid and then his father. Focus on the kids, because kids are funnier. I can see adults act like that in the real world, I wanna see some vulgar kids forming their own society because it is funny. *The whole point that home school kids need to be subject to the vices of this world. Well done. Yeah, how *ARE* home schooled kids going to survive in society if they are never subject to it? South Park episodes with intelligent plots rule.
-------------------- The Verdict: So, I give this episode an 8.5, because it was better than Korn's ep(7.5), but a notch below Chinpoko Mon(9.5). The last three episodes have been a real pick up since the Meteor Shower thing, at least IMHO. Starvin Marvin in Space looks like it will be pretty sweet, too.
