1) The internet has dramatically increased the speed at which fads evolve and die.
2) The internet has either exposed or fosters an environment that shows how stupid people are - we have this amazing technological resource and people utilize it to show themselves essentially as props, no more humorous or intelligent than posting cute/funny things animals do.
3) The internet culture has turned the political procees into candidates building a campaign basically in the same way someone tries to get hits on you-tube - pandering, entertainment, no clear message. People are too stupid to vote based on political philosophy, instead focusing on candidates's entertainment value and how the come across in short clips.
