Tonight's Eppy was... Helicool! (WARNING: slight spoiler)

I actually got to watch that at its normal time. I have to admit, that was a cool episode -- whoever says that SP is going downhill doesn't know what they were talking about! Stop talking smack about South Park!!!!

Did anybody else think that that spookyvision thing... well... kind of sucked? I mean, it was funny for the first coupl'a minutes, but it soon got annoying.

Did anybody else notice the 'split-screen' effect (the line & offset halves of the screen) they did for Cartman & his evil twin? That brought back some memories of classic (non-animated) sitcoms.

I also got a kick out of that 'indian burial ground' thing, almost all spooky shows have that as their premise ('so-and-so was built on an indian burial ground!!!').

They didn't say anything about Kenny's death... Is this going to be a pattern?

I'll shut up now.

Yeah! I noticed that. At first, I thought my TV was being screwy, but then I realized that it was really there, and it was meant to distinguish the evil-twinness (allow me to invent a word here!)

Yeah! And, practically every single mystery book I have ever read. It's always, like, "The house is haunted because of the Indian burial ground" "That guy was killed because he was acting like an asshole on Indian burial ground" etc. :)

*gasp* How could I have forgotten that?!?! That was odd! Maybe this is going to lead up to an episode where some weirdass secret is revealed about Kenny, that could explain his immortalishness (another word invention). It could be a clue to....something. Oh, Kyle, don't look so deep into everything. But ya never know! :)

I'm starting to think that Trey and Matt are real Trekkies, in case some non- trekkies don't know, the 'evil mirror universe' was featured in *two* ST: TOS episodes (I think they were titled 'Through the Looking Glass' and 'Mirror, Mirror'). Plus we have all the other Trek references.

I thought this episode needed some owrk. I did enjoy some of the jokes involve, but that "Spooky-Vision" bit was dumb. It just takes too much out of the scene, almost like the way networks would show their "bugs" for a long period of time during the programs.

The ending needed some work. I would've love to have Stan's mom coming up to the stage had contines to hug him, the same as she did when she suspected him of killing everbody, not the goldfish. It just went so quick.

That split-screen bit was basically an homage to the pioneering efforts of the old days of movie making. Supposibly to have someone appear as two characters (such as twins) they would film one side of the screen, with a black card, or matte, then switch to the other side, with the black matte on the other side, and film again, with the film rewond to the beginning of the short. This type of effect had been used since the silent era of films, ubt was perhaps replaced with the optical printer, which simplified the process. The use of the effect can still be seen today in numerous.projects such as student or independent filmmaking, where big budgets are not a factor in their crafts.

I hope I didn't go too off subject on this. This episode was just hella-same as the others this season.

I must sadly report that they (we) do.

I've heard some people here (in northeast Pennsylvania) say that before. There was a tiem when my parents were saying it constantly, as some sort of a joke, and I was like, "*WHAT* are you guys talking about?" But, every once in a while, just wandering around the mall, movies, etc. I hear people saying that.
