Well, I guess Canada may be blamed for its lax security, through which the culprits enter the US.

I don't know about that. Far be it from me to defend Canada -- and my experience may not be representative of their security -- but I've been treated more harshly by their border people than by those of any other country I've ever visited.

Okay, so the Americans can beef up their border patrols to Berlin Wall proportions. So much for Canada's status as the friendly and trusted trading partner and travel destination to the north. Cross-border tourism and commerce is really going to get hit hard in the nuts over this.
