It just doesn't work as a thirty-minute episode.
In 15-second snippets within the context of South Park, it's funny. What's funny about it is that it's *not* very clever or funny, and we're amused that Stan, Kyle, and Cartman are so lame-brained that they actually enjoy watching it. When that context is removed, all we have is 30 minutes of a cartoon that is not very clever or funny.
I, for one, found it immensely boring.

I've avoided posting about the April Fools episode because that's exactly what it was. No problem, the joke was on us -- just as predicted.
But a 30-minute T&P episode -- doesn't that say a lot that some in the real TV audience (and in this newsgroup) find it funny, just as the SP kids are glued to the set during the (at least) 14-part T&P Thanksgiving special in the Starvin' Marvin ep?
If Matt and Trey didn't have as much prestige around Comedy Central as they obviously have right now as creators of a new phenomenon (or if they were on another network), they wouldn't have been able to get an entire T&P show on the air. I would like to know what their response is to this controversy, and hopefully that will come out next week in the news.
