I had a teacher in high school (Drafting) who had a pretty simple philosophy for grading... for every incorrect mark on a design spec, he deducted a point. One time, he had a kid who didn't make any arrows or something on a design that had well over a hundred arrows.... the kid actually got a negative grade, and had to retake the test AND do a secondary project to make up for the negative points!
