Hi I know there are three different versions of the Chef Aid album: The soft version The regular version The hard version
How can you see the difference? I like to buy the hard version :-) And maby the regular too.
And is the hard version a limited edition?
I believe they were called "Extreme", "Explicit" and.... what's the other one? Anyway, if it doesn't say on the label, get the shopkeepers to play it for you. There is quite a lot cut out at the start of track 2 on the cut-down version

The stuff that gets "muffled" are usually the songs. It gets mighty annoying listening to the songs getting expunged. In your store look for the cover that has a red label that says Extreme version (or order it from cdnow.com or cduniverse.com).
The other differences are: The phone conversation on Horny is different. And on Mentally Dull (Think Tank Remix) the extreme version uses more dialogue from the Spirit of Christmas.
Is the Extreme a limited edition? I don't think so. But you may have to ask for it behind the counters at some stores.

Well I'm in the UK and I've only ever seen one version. I noticed from lyrics to Bubblegoose that Cartman should say "F**k you guys" but on my version he says nothing at that part. At the conversation before Horny the guy DOES clearly say F**k Trey.

I bought the "extreme" version from Boston, MA and compared it with the version I bought from Woolworths in Bury St Edmunds. In the extreme version 2:12, Stan goes "Cartman, you're ruining the song." Cartman replies, "Fuck you guys." And this bit does not appear on UK releases.
I'm gonna play the extreme version at work tonight and see if anyone notices. :)
