They might visit every so often just to get an idea of how the show is doing, but no one here knows for sure. If they do, they never post openly.

On occasion there had been some assholes in here trying to convince everyone that they were Matt and/or Trey. That was about 2 years ago or so. The only people who posted under their names were obviously just stupid trolls.

Which leads me to something I've wondered. If they WERE to post here, WOULD they use something sort of obvious (such as a character's name) because they figure that no one would suspect the true identity BECAUSE of how obvious it is? Or would they just choose something that wouldn't even raise the slightest bit of suspicion? (Hmm...BoingerKing?? No, no! I'm NOT serious! Just an example! Really!)

I can be reasonably sure when I say that Matt and Trey probably own computers and probably spend some time on the internet. Not only that, but they also eat at restaurants, rent videos, sleep, pick up their dry cleaning, go to the beach, and engage in other activities that "normal" people do. Yes, I'm sure South Park takes up a lot of time, and they probably are very busy, but I wouldn't be surprised if they lurked around here to get some feedback on the show or certain episodes. I doubt that they would be active participants in this group, though.
Famous people very often (if not usually) hire others to do most of these things. Why risk getting mobbed just to rent a video? Pick up dry-cleaning? That's definitely an assistant's job. Maybe even an intern's. As for lurking on Usenet, that's also something most likely undertaken by an assistant if at all. Maybe their publicist would hire someone to lurk...
Because they might rather sift through this newsgroups and judge for themselves what is worthy of their attention instead of leaving everything to the discretion of a paid servant. There are some things you can't put a monetary price on.
As I am aware, Courtney Love has been known in the past to lurk around and even participate in some of the discussions in the Hole newsgroup under various anonymous identities.
