SP Siteowners, any of you in the cyberthrill program? GETTING PAID?

Hi, I'm starting to get pissed off with this Cyber Thrill Banner Promotion. (I know a lot of South Park sites are in it and if you are in the program, read on and email me.) For a week it has said their system is "under maintenence" and I still haven't gotten any check (which supposadly were "sent"). Now, that their system is supposadly up, I just went to take a look at my stats and got this message at my stat page:

"Our tests of your Web site(s) could not confirm the placement of our banners in accordance with the instructions. Either your Web pages are unreachable or they do not display Cyber Thrill banners."

What is this BS? I haven't changed a thing to the site or the placement of the banner since I've gotten the banner. And isn't just perfect how it happens on a Friday! And get this, in order to get my account fixed here's what they tell me: " If you DO believe this has happened in error, please e-mail to [email] with subject: FRAUD APPEAL." Yeah, and I'm sure that will take a week for them to reply to my email, just like every other email I sent them.

ON top of that, I'm supposed to be getting TWO 30 dollar checks, which supposadly were sent 2 weeks ago and I still haven't got anything and who knows what I made this week!

If this promotion thing is a scam, I swear I will raise hell. Maybe I'm over reacting, but when you do everything they tell you to do, but they don't do their part, you have to wonder. Please email me back with your experiences with the program and whether or not you got paid.

I can confirm that eAds does actually pay, because I use their banners. just thought I would suggest them because there seems to be a LOT of pissed off people on the internet because of cyberthrill.

I signed with them for a while but when I heard that they didn't pay I said to myself "screw them". I received a long automatic reply to a question I sent them in which they said that they were behind on sending checks because they were checking out sites for violations. My guess is that those lamos are doing this manually, other companies use spiders to scan pages for incorrect banner code. I received the message on june 17th and it said that checks for may 30th had been sent plus I've been reading alot of things from people who haven't gotten paid. Cyberthrill are probably just another one of those lame companies who don't mind having people advertise for them but when it comes time to pay, are too greedy to do so.

There is a company that does pay, and on time every time. It has very good reviews from many webmasters. The only thing is that it's a porn web site and so it may not be the best type of sponsorship for a SP page. It's X Pics ( www.xpics.com ). I received a check the other day from them. They pay 18cents a click and have 7 independent site that can each pay out if the same user clicks all the different banners.

One thing you gotta watch out for is that if your server is case sensitive, RENAME ALL OF YOUR FILES TONOTHING BUT LOWERCASE CARACHTERS, I learned this the hard way because their server logs the address from which clicks were received as all lowercase caracters and when their spider comes to check out your site, if your server is case sensitive and your files contain capital letters they'll deactivate your account saying that you were receiving clicks from a page that does not exist. I cleared this up with them but lost about 500 $ in the process ( an assholl-ish move on their part ). But otherwise they're great. Still a little pissed off but the check I got 3 days later made me feel better.

Just thought I would share my 2cents on the topic. Has anyone been paid!?

I don't know much about things like this, but if you haven't been paiud and you've done as you should, their either a scam or else they are incompetent. In either case I wouldn't invest my time in working with them.

DON'T, they don't pay, they screw people out of every possible penny for the stupidest reasons. Even for no reason at all. They're just another one of those looser companies that love the idea of having countless people advertising for them on their site but can't bare to part with their precious little dollars when it comes time to reward those webmasters for their work.

Now I'm not sure how people would react to this (it's technically SPAM but for a good cause) but maybe we could post on some newsgroups what's goign on with cyberthrill. To make sure no one gets involved with them needlessly.

I was owed about $30 and just checked my account to find it has been frozen due to haveing used fraudulent methods to get clicks....I have one banner on eqach page of my site....I have no java script opening it....and have never posted my url to newsgroups....

this is what they do to stop you getting payed....

it sucks....don't sign up!
