have you seen in the 4th grade? Shouldn't most 4th graders be at least 10 or 11? Makes me wonder what Matt & Trey are thinking.

Where are you guys from? Anyway, most 4th graders *are* 8-9 years old -- at least in the U.S. The exceptions are those who started early, got held back, etc. Think about it like this:

Age 5: Kindergarten Age 6: Grade 1 Age 7: Grade 2 Age 8: Grade 3 Age 9: Grade 4 Age 10: Grade 5 Age 11: Grade 6 Age 12: Grade 7 Age 13: Grade 8 Age 14: Grade 9 Age 15: Grade 10 Age 16: Grade 11 Age 17: Grade 12 Age 18: college, assuming you are going to college and you started right after high school

That's right; I gave the starting ages, as in what age most children (in the U.S.) are when they start a given school year.

You sound like a NYCer. I turned 17 in October of my senior year; but I lived in Conn., so I could drive at 16 (still 6 months or more after my friends).

Nope, license age here is 16 (Virginia) but I didn't turn 16 until halfway thru my junior year. Didn't get my license until the summer before my senior year, though. I believe I was eight, or possibly even turned eight in the fourth grade.

But I was year ahead anyway.
