This doesn't make sense any sense at all ... It's CC's highest rated original program, it generates *trememous* word of mouth, moves *lots* of merchandise, and, according to an article I read a few weeks ago, 13 new episodes were ordered by CC.
But I guess stranger things *have* happened. I'm sure that if this is true SP will find a home somewhere.

Funny. All the talk about canecling South Park is a bunch of Crap! Why would they ever cancel their highest rating show? It is now the "talked about" show that replaced Beavis and Butthead, which replaced the Simpsons, which replaced Ren and Stimpy.

Remember Comedy Central has a liking for canceling well liked shows despite viewer complaints. Does MST3K ring a bell? That was and still is the finest show on tv. It is on the Sci-Fi channel now

I would like to make note, that this is about money and the AFA and CC never watched comedy central too much to begin with to begin with so I doubt that their protests are going to do shit to the network.

they are not canceling south park. it is their most popular show. they already signed to have 13 more shows for next year.
CNN _has_ reported on SP and a group that are trying to get it off air. Because it's so popular, they probably won't cancel the show but they probably WILL start toning it down...
I'll say it again, if you haven't recorded the episodes, you better start soon. You might just find future reruns quite different from the originals!

There is no way they will cancel it, example B&B. Everyone complained about that show and they just toned it down. This is probably what will happen to SP. B&B had to turn comments like "peckerwood" into ones like "fartknocker." Actually I find fartknocker" funnier.

Well, MST3K wasn't cancelled because of that one bitch who I dare not name, it was because the creator (Joel Hodgeson) didn't want to continue the show anymore. And also, he sold out to Sci-Fi channel. I heard all that on an interview a few days after the show moved, and I got pissed (and still am) because I don't have Sci-Fi =( And to add on to the SP cancellation, it's all just a false rumor and whoever started it should be shot. Why would the #1 animated show go off the air, only after 3 months of airing? Think about it, people...

No, he didn't... By the time the show moved to SFC, Joel was no longer involved in the show in any way. Best Brains, Incorporated owns MST, and they air their show on SFC- I'm not sure you could even say SFC "owns" MST at all; BBI does.

Comedy Central has made some dumb programming decisions before like cancelling Mystery Science Theater 3000 (luckily The Sci-Fi Channel picked it up) and giving up on Politically Incorrect (which went to ABC). I don't know if this rumor is true but like I said they have screwed up before with some of their most popular shows so South Park may be next in line to be dropped by Comedy Central. Obviously they don't give a damn about what the public wants or they are too damn cheap to keep the shows on their channel.

actually, if comedy central does drop south park, it could be a blessing in disguise. i believe that cc is a time-warner company; so is HBO, which gives, or has given cc alot of its programming (eg Dream On, other standup acts, etc.)
anyway, the point being is that HBO could pick up south park and make it much racier than it already is (considering they don't have to worry about content, spec. language while running it on their friday's 'round midnight line-up (e.g. spawn, spice city).
i doubt cc is going to cancel it, but if it should, HBO would be smart to pick up on it.

I disagree. I like SP the way it is, and IMO, HBO animation sucks. I think that the constant presence of censors looking over their shoulders has only made it funnier, they might have to go for clever writing rather than the nearest poop joke(sheesh)(not that they never do). It makes you wonder how they get away with what they do. They attacked the limits of basic cable, without these limits it would've meant nothing.
BTW, did they say that they were cancelling it anyway?

I'm not saying Comedy Central is going to cancel South Park. I'm just saying it would be a bad idea if it was moved to HBO, because I wouldn't be able to watch it.
Fox put a lot of ad time in for The Tick right up until they cancelled. And he kept on showing up in those self-promotion blurbs for weeks afterwards. I'll bet you could still find him on the Fox Kids web page.
